The Independent Truck Company was co-founded in 1978 by messrs Richard Novak, Jay Shiurman, Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson with the goal of bringing quality trucks to skateboarders in a market that seemed to consist of products that either "broke" or "didn't turn".
